What inspired you to start your business? 

Springrose was inspired by my grandmother Rose, who was an unstoppable woman despite living with chronic pain. She struggled to put on her bra and underwear, which felt like an indignity to me, but I couldn't find any options that were adaptive and pretty. That's when I decided to create what is now Springrose. 

What challenges have you overcome along the way?

Developing our first product was the greatest challenge. Creating our bra's unique closure system — which allows for donning the bra 8 different ways — took 3 years of research, development, and testing with women and health professionals. After we had that right, it took us four tries to find the right manufacturer who could make it to our specs. 

Do you have any advice for others looking to start their own business?

Don't go into the bra business! Kidding aside, it's important to find experts in the areas you don't know. It may seem costly upfront, but it'll save you time, money, and pain down the line. Also, this is a mentally challenging career path, so make sure you have a great community to support you along the way.
